چکیده

This paper presents an approach for the automated extraction of process patterns from Event-driven Process Chain (EPC) models in engineering domains. The manually extraction of process patterns (semantically described reference building blocks) is a labor-intensive, tedious and cumbersome task. The introduced approach comprises the three stages knowledge acquisition, process pattern extraction and generic pattern construction that are conducted automated. The presented approach is characterized by exploiting the implicit semantics of natural language terms associated with EPC model elements. Semantic patterns are employed to analyze the lexical structure of these terms and to relate them to instances of a reference ontology. Thus semantically annotated EPC model elements are input for subsequent process pattern extraction. The semantic annotation allows during pattern extraction to identify process goals of EPC functions and to organize goals into hierarchies. During generic process pattern construction, common goals of different process patterns give rise to construct generic process patterns.

Using learned extraction patterns for text classification

A major knowledge-engineering bottleneck for information extraction systems is the process of constructing an appropriate dictionary of extraction patterns. AutoSlog is a dictionary construction system that has been shown to substantially reduce the time required for knowledge engineering by learning extraction patterns automatically. However, an open question was whether these extraction patte...

Automatic Discovery of Linguistic Patterns for Information Extraction

Information Extraction (IE) systems typically rely on extraction patterns encoding domain-specific knowledge. When matched against natural language texts, these patterns recognize with high accuracy information relevant to the extraction task. Adapting an IE system to a new extraction scenario entails devising a new collection of extraction patterns a time-consuming and expensive process. To ov...

Developing a Feature Extraction of Existing Structures Using an Ambient Vibration Test

The paper aims to extract the dynamic properties of existing structures without utilizing the analytical models. The ambient vibration testing could be used on any type of frame such as concrete, steel and masonry to investigate the structural vulnerability. The method could be the first stage and necessarily for the retrofit process. To achieve this aim, the ambient vibration testing can...
